Millwall's Mark McCammon has joined Brighton & Hove Albion on loan for a month.

Former Lions' boss Mark McGhee moved for the hitman after losing one-time Millwall Player of the Year Steve Claridge to Brentford. Claridge signed for Brentford until the end of the season after the Sussex side refused to extend his current deal beyond January 2005.

McGhee has been after McCammon for some time and tried to sign the lanky striker on a permanent basis earlier this season but Dennis Wise has been reluctant to let McCammon go. However, with Scott Dobie, Danny Dichio and Barry Hayles all fit, Wise has decided to loan out the former Brentford and Charlton striker over the busy festive season.

McCammon will go straight into Brighton's squad for this weekend's visit of Stoke and could make his debut at The Withdean.
