McCormack bid shunned on deadline day

It emerged today that Millwall tried to tempt Southend United midfielder Alan McCormack to The Den on Tuesday but their offer of £200k was rejected by The Shrimpers.

According to rumours filtering out of Roots Hall the Essex club had hoped Millwall boss Kenny Jackett would increase his initial bid but the Lions manager ended his interest there and then signed Danny Schofield from Yeovil Town instead.

Jackett had promised more signings but the transfer deadline came and went without any new additions to The Lions squad although it is expected that one or two new faces may join on loan in the near future.
