McGhee said: "He made a difference to us and allowed us to play the way we like to play.
"Traditionally we've had someone like Kevin up front, Sadlier or Paul Moody before that, and he's looking good for our team.
"The goal will not only help him but the rest of the team see that he's getting a goal.
"That gives them hope and faith in him, so it's great all-round."
