McGhee upset at boo-boys

"I wish we'd got better support today because we were getting booed when we came off the pitch," McGhee said after Saturday's disappointing defeat.

"It's dangerous for us not to get behind all our players. The only way our young players are going to improve is if people get behind them. It's all the more difficult for me because if there is one team I don't like to lose against, it's Reading."

"As a manager you hope that you have the support behind you, but I felt today, and at Reading, that at no time did I have the crowd behind me. I can't say I enjoyed that.

"We've got to pick up our game for our next match. I can't really fault the lads for the effort they put in but all in all it was a disappointing day's work for us and we'll be looking to turn it around quickly if we don't want to slip down the table."
