McInnes: Signs at last

Having turned down an offer to join Millwall only last week, midfielder Derek McInnes has made a dramatic u-turn and put pen to paper on a two-year deal with The Lions to become the club's tenth signing of the summer.

The former Scottish International finally signed late last night after receiving a new, improved offer from manager Nigel Spackman that was just too good to turn down.

"I had a few offers from other clubs in Scotland," McInnes told the club's official website. "I had to ensure that whatever move I made was the right one.

"I have a couple of sons and my wife to think about, and was not particularly looking to move back down south again. But once I spoke to Nigel Spackman, realised how much he wanted me here and how impressed I was with the set-up here, I knew this was the right move for me, and will hopefully be a benefit to Millwall too."
