Right-back Alan Dunne will return to the squad after completing a three-match suspension for his recent red card against Leicester. Midfielder Tamika Mkandawire will miss out after picking up a groin injury that will keep him out for at least a fortnight.
Centre-half Paul Robinson, who limped off towards the end against the Blues, will be out for two to three weeks, while midfielder Liam Trotter is very doubtful after injuring his back against Derby.
New signing Theo Robinson will be in the squad following his permanent move from Huddersfield.
