Millwall hit by injury

Millwall will see in the New Year with a selection headache to rival any hangover in the land.

With Barry Hayles suspended and Scott Dobie struggling with a hamstring injury, The Lions may be forced to play either Joe Healy or Mark Quigley upfront alongside Danny Dichio. Neither youngster has started a game for the club as yet but with Mark McCammon, Ben May, Kevin Braniff and John Sutton all on-loan, manager Dennis Wise's hand may be forced to throw one of them into the deep-end.

Wise himself is an injury doubt after he received a painful blow to the back that left the player/manager in some discomfort.

"Dennis got a whack in the back and had to be stretchered off," explained Wise's assistant Ray Wilkins.

"As he was being carried off I saw him shaking like a leaf and when I got in the dressing room he was lying down and had lost the feeling in his legs.

"Our physio thinks he might have been suffering from a bit of dehydration but we're hopeful he will be all right."

Darren Ward and Paul Ifill have already been ruled out for the clash.
