Braniff: Hit post
New boss Nigel Spackman is still waiting for his first as manager of Millwall after the latest pre-season friendly saw The Lions go down 3-2 to non-League Crawley Town.

Spackman fielded a team of fringe players and trialists at the Broadfield Stadium, including five of the team that toured Iceland, but it was the home side who started the more positively and took the lead on 17 minutes before extending their advantage further after the break. Ross Gaynor pulled a goal back for The Lions shortly afterwards and then Kevin Braniff hit the post.

With five minutes left, Scott Marshall added a third for Crawley before Barry Cogan struck back but The Lions were unable to find an equaliser, with Braniff again going close at the end.

Millwall: Brooks, Cottrell (Callaghan), Oberstellar, Hendry (Michael Phillips), Bostwick, Pooley (Payne), Cogan, D. Phillips (Noone), Grant, Braniff, Gaynor (Fuseini).
