Millwall refuse to get burnt over Kandol

Millwall Football Club have today reiterated their intention to keep hold of striker Tresor Kandol, who is wanted back at Elland Road by his parent club.

The Congo international has hit the back of the net eight times since arriving at The Den and his new-found form has prompted Leeds United manager Gary McAllister to invesigate whether or not he can recall the striker after his side's recent run of poor form. But The Lions are not prepared to play ball over Kandol, insisting that he is a Millwall player until his long-term loan deal expires at the end of January.

Manager Kenny Jackett has also admitted that he would like to sign the player permanently but realises that Leeds may not want to sell the 27-year-old to a promotion rival - a far cry from the situation back in July when Kandol was farmed out to a club supposedly concerned with a forthcoming relegation dog-fight.
