Millwall Football Club are expected to be fined by the Football Association this week after it was revealed in this morning's newspapers that both The Lions and West Ham United will be charged by the FA for events at Upton Park during the teams' Carling Cup clash last month.

The Hammers are expected to be receive a heavier fine than Millwall but despite the game being played away from The Den the club will be charged with offences ranging from racist chanting to the destruction and throwing of seats.

Both clubs are not expected to contest the charges but will ask for mitigating circumstances to be taken into account. West Ham are expect to be hit with a large fine but will not be asked to play games behind closed doors or be thrown out of the competition despite three pitch invasions and threats to the Millwall team.

One fan from South London was stabbed outside of the ground and several others were injured.
