The Sweeney...
Millwall manager Dennis Wise has hit out at the Scottish FA over their decision to keep winger Peter Sweeney for an extra day.

Sweeney, who played in Scotland's U-21 side against Hungary yesterday, is not due back until Friday, leaving Wise with a major headache ahead of Saturday's Championship clash against Coventry City.

Speaking to the club's official site, the Millwall boss said: "Usually after an international game you get players back on a Thursday and you can work with them.

"Regards Peter Sweeney and Scotland, I just can't work the situation out. We've been banging our heads against a brick wall trying to get him back, but obviously they want to send him back when they want to. This is something we need to sort out with the Scottish FA. Peter's coming back on Friday and that really is just not good enough."

Wise will also be without Canadians Josh Simpson and Adrian Serioux, who are also due to return on Friday, but he was more sympathetic to their plight than Sweeney's.

"They have a long way to come back from Canada and obviously you've got the time difference to contend with too. I'll have to have a chat with them and see how they feel. It's a difficult situation because we don't have a massive squad, but I want to get my best players playing."
