Sweeney: Staying?
Millwall are set to do battle with Championship rivals Stoke City in order to retain the services of Peter Sweeney.

Lions chairman Jeff Burnige has confirmed that the club will resume negotiations with the player after he returns from international duty in an effort to keep him at the club.

The 20-year-old midfielder is currently with the Scotland Under-21 squad and isn't due back until next Thursday. However, with several media sources already reporting his move to The Britannia Stadium it may be a case of too little, too late.

Sweeney himself has made it clear that he doesn't want to leave the club but it is believed that Stoke's offer was a vast improvement on the contract offered by The Lions.
