Millwall are set to sign Australian international defender Kevin Muscat from Glasgow Rangers on a three-year contract.

The former Wolves and Crystal Palace star has been capped 43 times by the Socceroos and is expected to start against Palace on Saturday once formalities have been completed.

Manager Mark McGhee explained "There are one or two technicalities which have to be ironed out yet on the player's side, and once that's been done hopefully he'll be a Millwall player by the weekend.

"I'm looking to improve our defensive record which is already excellent and also to put a bit of emphasis on the quality of our play going forward, including the full backs who have to join in. I want to put players already at the club under pressure to do better."
