Josh Simpson and Adrian Serioux flew home to Canada last night in preperation for Wednesday's night international against Guatemala and are not expected to return to London until Friday morning.

However, despite the lengthy journey and the threat of jet-lag, both players have promised Dennis Wise that they will be available for selection of Saturday's clash against Coventry City at Highfield Road.

Speaking to the club's official site, Serioux spoke of his determination not to miss The Lions' next game.

"We get back to London on Friday morning," explained Serioux. "Then we will travel up to Coventry.

"It's going to be a pretty hectic week. I was just getting used to the time change, so to go back to Canada is going to be pretty tough."

Serioux also took the time to thank manager Dennis Wise for being so understanding when it came to the players' international commitments.

"It's very rare to have a player-coach who is so understanding. But the international matches for Canada aren't too frequent and the next one will be in December."

The Canadians are not the only Lions away on international duty this week, with Peter Sweeney due to meet up with the Scotland under-21 side ahead of their match against Hungary.
