Barry Hayles
Hayes: Double strike
Millwall take on Southend United at Roots Hall tomorrow evening after a mixed weekend away to Conference side Crawley Town and Basingstoke Town.

A Barry Hayles double saw off Crawley but The Lions youthful-looking second team, takinging part in the Basingstoke Memorial Cup, went down 3-2.

The Basingstoke game saw several unfamiliar faces line-up in a Lions shirt as boss Steve Claridge gave several trialists a run-out. However, the appearance of former Scottish international Don Hutchinson in midfield caused the biggest stir.

However, having been released by West Ham last week, Hutchinson is merely at the club to get fit and it is doubtful whether he'll join the club on a permanent basis.

Claridge may select him for tomorrow's game against The Shrimpers but he is likely to take a strong side to the League One side as he continues to assess the quality of his new charges.
