Millwall fans may be prevented from attending the club's opening fixture of the 2005/06 season after West Yorkshire Police insisted that all Lions fans b bussed into the ground for the game against Leeds United.

Having already received a reduce allocation, Millwall FC, in conjunction with the Millwall Supporters Club, have decided not to accept the remaining allocation of tickets. Both parties feel that such action will set a dangerous precedent.

In a statement released on the official site, a club spokesman revealed the reasoning behind Millwall's actions.

"There is genuine cause to fear that police forces now have the power to dictate how supporters travel to matches," the statement read. "And other clubs may in future suffer similar restrictions.

"Millwall Football Club believes that in the face of this decision by West Yorkshire Police, and given the fact that it has been supported, however reluctantly and with very little choice, by the Football League, all clubs need to consider the wider implications for football in general. "
