No transfer action for Lions

As the transfer deadline approached it increasing became a day of mixed emotions as rumours and counter-rumours flew about the Millwall messageboard. In the end The Lions refused to get involved in the whole affair, keeping their wallets closed tight.

Not that we would have ever signed anyone, despite our obvious short-comings in certain areas. Instead there was an anxious wait as news emerged that Charlton Athletic had made a bid for captain Paul Robinson. Whether the story was true or not, it certainly got people going and many fans stayed up just to make sure, probably knowing that why wouldn't have been able to sleep anyhow.

In the enf Robinson stayed put, as did winger Ryan Smith, despite a late enquiry from Leyton Orient, and so manager Kenny Jackett must remain content with what he's got. At least for another week, because that's when the "loan window" opens... And as we know, we're all about loans.
