Plymouth pair on trial

Kenny Jackett has offered a trial to Plymouth Argyle defender Mathias Doumbe and midfielder Simon Walton. Both players are currently training with the club and Doumbe has been granted permission by The Pilgrims to play in Richard Sadlier's testimonial tomorrow.

With captain Paul Robinson ruled out until September at the earliest through injury and Zak Whitbread destined to leave The Den sooner rather than later, manager Kenny Jackett is keen to strengthen his defence after being forced to hand 16-year-old Chris Hegarty his first senior start in Tuesday's 4-1 over Dartford.

Should Doumbe impress, Jackett is likely to offer the Frenchman a contract.
