Powel: Set to leave
Berry Powel looks set to leave The Den just six months after joining the club for £125,000.

Powel, who signed from Dutch side Den Bosch, has made just twelve appearances for The Lions but having scored just one goal during his stay, he is now considered surplus to requirements by new boss Nigel Spackman, who has yet to see him play.

Although the Dutch striker suffered from a bad attack of nerves before his first handful of games, his £5,000-a-week wages are thought to be the main reason for his departure.

"If Berry had scored four or five goals in the first dew weeks, he would not have lost his spot," agent Chiel Dekker told the South London Press. "He needed time to settle, but he did not get it."
