Speaking to the club's official website, Lions Chairman Jeff Burnige said: "Reg joined the board in the mid 1970s and became Chairman in 1986. During his period at the helm the club was promoted to the First Division for the first time in its history. Reg also oversaw the move to our new stadium from the old Den in 1994.
"It was the culmination of a wonderful life in football that he was able to see The Lions in the FA Cup Final last season."
He is survived by his widow Bernice, and daughter Rosemary.
