Although the defender did not sustain another break the medical team at The Den have decided that an operation is the best course of action for the player after physio Bobby Bacic could not determine whether the pin that is currently holding the relevant bones in place had been damaged in the fall.
"After much discussion we have decided to operate," Bacic told the club's official website. "Even the scans are clear we wish to look inside the foot and triple check there is no fracture."
