Savaloy sells up and departs

Peter de Savary, the one-time Chairman of Millwall Football Club has today sold his shares in the club, ending his three-and-a-half year relationship with The Lions.

The former yachtsman succeeded Theo Paphitis as chairman in Novermber 2005 but despite a flamboyant entrance he appeared unwilling to put his money his pockets to keep Millwall in the Championship, suggesting that he was only interested so long as the regeneration scheme remained a going concern.

However, with Heather Rabbatts stepping down last week it appears that has been placed on ice and de Savary has sold his 8% stake in the club just days after Graham Ferguson Lacey got rid some of his shares.

But like all former Chairmen, de Savary has at least left behind a legacy in the shape of the blue routemaster bus used by the MSC on matchdays!
