Danny Senda has has a third operation on his knee in the hope of finally fixing the knee injury he sustained in the final game of last season.

The popular defender suffered a dislocation shortly after scoring his first goal for The Lions in the 2-1 defeat away to Swindon Town but has been unable to regain full fitness after experiencing pain in his knee during the early stages of his rehabilitation. The decision was made to operate once again after a second surgery proved unsuccessful.

"In layman's terms, what Danny had was a wash-out to get rid of some small debris which was still in his knee," explained Lions physio Bobby Bacic. "He hadn't been experiencing any pain, but the knee was swelling up once he had got back into full training which indicated that something was clearly wrong.

"Hopefully, this latest surgery, which also involved trimming a small piece of cartilage, will have solved the problem once and for all."

However Bacic also confirmed that Senda will miss the rest of the season as a result of the operation.
