Smith back at The Den

Anthony Smith has been invited back to The Den for a third time this summer to show Lions' boss Kenny Jackett what he can do.

The fiesty winger has had an on/off relationship with the club ever since being linked with a move to the club in the summer of 2006. Only a serious foot injury prevented him for being able to attend his trial that year but The Lions seemed suitably impressed when he played on the hallowed turf last summer, scoring once and gaining two assists over the course of four games.

He is expected back at The Den the week after the play-off finals and admitted that he is looking forward to proving his worth.

"Obviously I was a bit disappointed not be offered a contract last year," Smith told Millwall Mad. "I thought I played well in the four games I featured and even scored. But there was a lot of talent on display that day so I'll just have to make sure I do more to stand out this year."
