Smith goes out on trial

For those of you who wondered what on earth happened to winger Ryan Smith Millwall Mad can now reveal that the player is currently on trial with Dutch club NEC Nijmegen with a view to a permanent move.

Smith, 21, has endured something of an injury-hit career at The Den following his move from Derby County and has made just 24 appearances for The Lions.

Smith is one of those currently out of favour with Millwall boss Kenny Jackett as he looks to trim his squad of the club's high earners and with Chris Hackett and Dave Martin currently in the side the former Arsenal youngster has been deemed surplus to requirements.
