Spackman: Understands fans' frustrations
Having seen his team booed off the pitch on Saturday, Millwall manager Nigel Spackman knows that he has got his work cut out if he is to turn his side into realistic promotion candidates. But the former Liverpool and Glasgow Rangers midfielder is far from disheartened at their reaction and believes it will be good for the team in the long-run.

"I can understand the crowd's frustration and booing," he told the South London Press. "We're at the wrong end of the table, but we have played some good football - though in the end it's about winning matches. We know we need to win at home.

"I think our fans are a very knowledgeable crowd. They like the passion, they like the way the game is played and they can see we are actually playing some good football.

"They are applauding that, but at the end of the day they want to see a win and I would have taken a scrappy win but we didn't get it."
