Danny Spiller has failed in his attempt to win a new deal with The Lions after being offered a chance to prove his worth by manager Kenny Jackett.

Spiller, 27, was originally told that his services were no longer required at the end of last season but was given a second opportunity by Jackett after pleading his case.

However the midfielder, who suffered an injury-hit career at The Den, failed to do enough to make the manager change his mind in pre-season training.
