The Arsenal player, who is currently on a season-long loan at the Den was questioned along with another 22-year-old Man last Wednesday, although news of the arrest only came to light in Sunday's newspapers.
The pair were held over an alleged attack on a woman in Beckenham, south-east London, and have been bailed until 22 October.
The club have yet to release a statement.
