Still no sign of a striker

Despite their best efforts to bring someone in on loan, Millwall will again line up with only one recognised striker when they face Derby County at The Den tomorrow.

It was thought that Bob Peeters would return from suspension to lead the attack with Kevin Braniff but the Belgian international was injured in training yesterday morning and is doubtful for the game.

Last week, Wise tried four different options in the match against Reading but The Lions could only fire blanks as they went down to a solitary goal from John Salako. That performance convinced the new manager of the need to bring in some fresh faces on loan but despite being linked with the likes of Darren Huckery, Carl Cort and Danielle Dichio, no one has arrived.

To add insult to injury, the management team have also agreed to Brentford's request to retain the services of Ben May for the rest of the season. May, who made his debut during a similar injury crisis two seasons ago, has had a successful loan spell at Griffin Park and has been a key figure in their recent run of good results.
