Donachie: Planning for the future
Millwall's plans for squad-strengthening in the close season is already under way as the club look to improve on last year's "scatter-gun" transfer policy.

Chief Scout Pat Holland has revealed that The Lions already have their eye o two young strikers who they hope to bring in once the current campaign comes to a conclusion.

"We have already been short-listing players we would like to strengthen the squad, and we have two young strikers whom we want to bring in if possible," Holland said.

"We will certainly be looking closely at the retained lists, to see if there are others we may not have considered who would suit us, too.

"Willie already has the nucleus of a very good squad, and we have to be careful to make sure we bring in players who will make us even better."

However, rumours surrounding the futures of top-scorers Darren Byfield and Poul Hubertz persist. Both players have spoken about possible moves away from The Den, with Byfield looking for a move back to the Midlands and Hubertz unhappy about his lack of first-team chances.
