Stewart: On trial
Millwall have given a trial to former Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Thomas Stewart with the view to signing the Northern Ireland under-21 international on a permanent basis.

Stewart, who is also wanted by Linfield and Portadown, begins his trial today having attending last night's Carling Cup game against Gillingham as a guest of the club.

"I have been told that there will be a few matches over the next few days," Stewart told the Belfast Telegraph. "If I can play well and score goals in them then hopefully something will come of it," said Stewart.

"Millwall are a big club in League One and this is a good opportunity for me to get signed by a club that is hopefully going to challenge. I don't know how long I am staying for, I haven't been given a return flight ticket and hopefully that is a good sign.

"I am looking forward to getting the chance to impress and I will at least be able to get match fit with playing games."
