Dichio: Ligament damage
Dennis Wise's injury woes continue to mount up with the news that Daniele Dichio could be out for the final two games of the season.

The lanky striker has damaged his medial knee ligament and needed a painkilling injection to play in Sunday's 2-1 victory over Preston North End.

Andy Marshall has already been ruled out, with Graham Stack set to return to make his first start since January - and winger Peter Sweeney is also unlikely to figure after twisting his ankle against The Lilywhites.

With Josh Simpson struggling with a back injury and Andy Impey on the sidelines with a hamstring problem, Paul Ifill will almost definitely start the game but is some way off full-match fitness.

Speaking to the club's official website, manager Dennis Wise was quick to ponder what might have been if the squad had stayed fit this season.

"If I put my first XI out against any team in this division every week, I would fancy us to get a win or draw against any one.

"It's been so frustrating this year because the team has varied so much. We have had injury after injury ,or suspension after suspension, and sadly we've never been in a situation where I have been really able to pick a settled side. I've had to chop and change it so much and yet again we've got a couple of problems for the Sheffield game.

"There are a couple not fit and I'm not going to have my first XI again. However, the team I put out will be going to win the game and hopefully we'll get a result there. I'm sure we will."
