Two more bite the dust

Ross Gaynor and Andrew Callaghan have become the latest victims of Kenny Jackett's spring clean at The Den, with both players told that they are surplus to requirements.

The release of Gaynor is something of a surprise, having impressed in the reserves this season, but having played a handful of first-team games Jackett has decided he has seen enough.

Defender Callaghan, meanwhile, has failed to progress after a series of injuries and the club decided to may be for the best if he continued his career elsewhere.

"Andrew has had such bad injuries," Jackett told the South London Press. "He picked up another that took him out to the end of the season and I told him some time ago to give him the best chance to find something else.

"He has some options, including a university place and an offer in America and his contract will not be renewed."
