According to reports on Sky News, Millwall have accepted a bid thought to be worth around £1.5 million from Crystal Palace for defender Darren Ward.

Ward, who was voted Player of the Year last season, has attracted interest from a number of clubs - including Manchester City - but Chairman Jeff Burnige is believed to have agreed a deal with Simon Jordan late yesterday evening.

The move already looks to be unpopular with Lions fans and will further dent Burnige's image as a chairman who understands the fans.
