Ward: Second triumph

Defender Darren Ward has won the MSC Player of the Year Award for the second consecutive season, despite rumours of him wanting to the leave the club in the Summer.

The centre half won with 28% of the vote, beating off competition from striker Barry Hayles and fellow defender Matt Lawrence. A mere five votes was the difference between Hayles, who finished second, and 2000/01 winner Lawrence.

Midfielder David Livermore was fourth while youngster Marvin Elliot was fifth.
