Warner offered new deal

Millwall Football Club have offered keeper Tony Warner a new contract in an attempt to keep him at the club until 2006.

The improved two-and-a-half year deal will hopefully put an end to the speculation linking the popular goalkeeper with a possible move to either Wolves, Southampton or, God forbid, West Ham United.

Warner's current contract is up at the end of the season and manager Dennis Wise is hoping that the new deal will encourage him to stay.

"The club have made Tony a new offer. Whether he wishes to take it up or wait until the end of the season is entirely up to him.

"I don't know what he intends to do, but the offer is there and if he wishes to sign it will be great for the club.

"Whatever he decides, the most important thing for Tony is that he continues to play as well as he has been for Millwall."
