Despite their recent run of good form, Millwall's Marvin Williams is not getting carried away and has been quick to rubbish talk of The Lions reaching the play-offs.

Saturday's win put Willie Donachie's men within ten points of sixth-place but despite closing the gap at the top, The Lions are struggling to put a reasonable distance between themselves and the bottom four - something Williams is very aware of.

"We need to secure safety first and foremost," he told the Kentish Times. "At the start of the season, our target was to reach the play-offs at least, if not automatic promotion.

"Our bad start hindered that target, but we've gone on good runs and we've just got to take each game as it comes. I don't think we can afford to look too far forward and get ahead of ourselves. But if we take each match as they come and pick up good results, then who knows?"

"We would have ended up losing that game six or seven months ago once they got the equaliser," he added. "But it just shows how far we have come. Once they got the goal, we bounced back well and showed great character to get the winner."
