Donachie: Performance not good enough
Millwall manager Willie Donachie took the unprecedented step of apologising to the supporters that made the trip up to Northampton last night to watch The Lions slump to a 3-0 defeat.

To make matters worse, Neal Ardley was injured prior to the game while fellow midfielder Alan Dunne was sent of in the dying seconds as The Cobblers hit The Lions with three second-half goals.

"I don't usually do this," he told the club's official site. "But I have to apologise to the supporters for the lack of commitment shown by the team.

"On Saturday we were very good, tonight we were very poor and that's where we are at the moment. We're not in this position for nothing, and while I believe this group of players are capable of moving us up the table, with a couple more strong people we could do well, and I am trying very hard, with the support of the board, to get those people."
