Fangueiro, who was expected to sign for rivals Plymouth Argyle before the deal feel through, played in Monday night's friendly against Walton & Hersham and is currently on trial from Uniao Leiria.
The 28-year-old could go straight into the squad for Sunday's clash against Leeds United should the deal go through.
