Manager Dennis Wise is set to hand new signing Josh Simpson his first start for the club as Millwall prepare to get their home campaign underway against Wigan Athletic.

Simpson, who signed last week from Portland University, made his debut on Saturday against Plymouth Argyle, coming on as a first half sub for the injured Paul Ifill. But with Ifill now out for up to three weeks, the 21-year-old Canadian international is expected to retain his place in the side.

However, fellow Canadian Adrian Serioux, who is set to sign for The Lions this afternoon, will not be available for selection.

Wise may also consider starting himself after making an impact on Saturday which could see Marvin Elliot revert to right back but the player-manager is reluctant to disrupt the team further after Ifill's enforced absence.

Kick-off is at 7.45pm with Lee Probert - who sent off two, booked eight and awarded on penalty on Saturday - set to referee the game.
