Wise not to be rushed

Millwall boss Dennis Wise has made it clear that he will not be rushed into making new signings after receiving criticism from certain sections of Lions fans for the lack of new faces at the club.

Despite having around £1.5 million to spend, the manager insists that he will take his time and shell out any money on any hold player, prefering a more selective approach when it comes to strengthening his squad.

"We're not going to spend money on something we don't particularly want," Wisey told the club's official site. "If you are in doubt about something you don't go with it, end of story.

"I'm not going to squander the money. We're doing OK, we're getting players fit now as well which is a bonus, and with Kevin Muscat back in the next couple of weeks and Paul Ifill hopefully back in the next couple of weeks too, my squad will look a bit stronger.

"Obviously I need to add to the squad, but it won't be half-hearted players, it'll be good players. Anyone can get a load of players in that you feel may do, but I want to be 100 per cent sure like I was with Adrian Serioux and Josh Simpson, it's as simple as that."
