Dennis Wise has set his targets on Newcastle striker Carl Cort as the player to solve Millwall's current injury crisis.

As reported earlier on FootyMad, Wise will be without five strikers for the game against Norwich City at The Den this Saturday and is desperate for reinforcements.

He has already signed Nick Chadwick on loan from Everton, but believes Cort - who has yet to feature for Newcastle this season - would be the perfect foil to give The Lions' attack some bite.

"We are looking to bring Cort in because we need another striker who can be a target man," said Wise.

"Nick Chadwick was brilliant against Bradford on Saturday and we need another like him if we are to make an impression at this stage," he told the South London Press.

Cort's Newcastle career has been blighted by a series of injuries since he joined the Magpies from Wimbledon for £7m in 2000.
